Shishaldin About Me: I have taken my user name from the active volcano, Shishaldin, on Unimak Island, Aleutian Islands, Alaska. My actual name is CRM. My experience in the Unimak area began in 1961 and I lived near False Pass, Alaska, for many years. I have a B.A. in Foreign Languages and a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Oregon. Because of this background and experience I have a strong interest in the natural environment and villages in the Unimak area. During my over 50 years of experience in the area, most of the old traditional villages have been abandoned and little now remains of their prior existence. My intent is to try to preserve some of the village history before it is lost. I will also contribute information on the natural environment and current human occupation of the Unimak area.
