Electrocyclic Reactions

[edit]

Electrocyclic reactions are common organic chemistry reactions that involve movement of the electrons of pi bonds and induce ring closings and opening.

Example of an electrocylic rearrangement. The addition of a 5-membered furan to a compound with a 6- and 4-member ring.
