Omulonga Dam
Omulonga Dam is situated in Oshigambo village in Oshikoto region. The dam is surrounded by attractive trees which are being used as resting places as well as entertainment area by the youth of the village especially during summer season.
The dam is useful to the community as it is the main source of water available to them. It is also use used by the community to fish their fish for self consumption and selling and local market. On the historical background, it is believed that the Sun people had uses this dam as the hunting point, they could come at the river at night and wait for the wild animals that are coming to drink, an they will shoot them for families feeding.
Among the trees around the river, there is a well known an admirable tree called omukwiyu. this tree have grown through the rock which is on end half meter fro the ground. it is still unknown whether it was the rock or the tree that have grow first at this spot. This tree is named after the secondary school called OmukwiyuGwemanya Senior Secondary School. means The tree in the rock in Oshiwambo language. The feature of this tree and the beauty of the river have being the tourist attraction
