Stable Burnout Arc ...
Description
[edit]Stable burnout arc is a rare failure mode of incandescent light bulbs in which the filament breaks and an electrical arc is formed across the gap. A light bulb in this state often produces a buzzing or singing sound. Sometimes flickering is also observed. Once the light is switched off, the collapse of the arc results in permanent failure.
