Kauthuma-Shaka is a Vedic text and one of the shakhas of the Samaveda. It is one of the three rescensions present today out of 1000 rescensions (Shakhas) in Samaveda and this shakha is known more prominently.[1]

The Samaveda- Samhita of Kauthumas, consists of two parts, "Archika" and "gana". The Archika is also separated in two. - the Purvarcika which consists of 650 verses and the Uttararcika consists of 1225 verses, so the total number of verses in the Samaveda-Samhita of Kauthumas is 1875.[1]
