They are called by the outsiders as Chin or Kuki whilst their actual racial nomenclature is Zo. They have been calling for themselves as Zo for more than 2,500 years. Some tribes such as Hakha, Falam, feel comfortable with Chin whilst Tedim tribes would rather want to call themselves as Zomi ("mi" means People, Race, Racial Group).
