Daya Reginae Lovehall(born November 11, 2003), known professionally as Reginae Lovehall, is an American singer-songwriter. She released her debut single RIP, on August 23, 2021, with her now former label Uno Umbrella Records owned and managed by Kelcy Cole. However, she now independently releases music through her own label, Lovehall Laboratories found in 2022, distributed through DistroKid.
Early life
[edit]Daya Reginae Lovehall was born on November 11, 2003 as Daya Reginae Johnson in Inglewood, California. Her mother Reginae Lovehall worked as a cashier at the local Slauson Super Mall while her father pursed a military career most of her life. As a child the singer's parents never stayed home much leaving her in the care of her grandmother Renae Johnson. Daya eventually took flight and went on to attend South Atlanta High School for her Junior year where she played for the school's women's basketball team. The California native completed her senior year in May of 2020 homeschooled due to multiple gun shot wounds near her torso after a night out in DeKalb County.
Career
[edit]2020-2021: Career beginnings and To Die For
[edit]Daya discovered singing when she joined her elementary school choir from her grandmother's beliefs and roots. Forced to step down as an atlethe she began writing songs while admitted to Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. Daya's stage name derived from her wanting a disconnect from her personal, her mother and father later chose to remarry and the singer chained along to change her last name from Johnson to Lovehall. She released her six track debut EP, now renamed as To Die For under the name of Winter's Diary, on SoundCloud in December 2021.
She was discovered by American rapper Kelan "Kelcy" Cole in 2021 and later went on to tour with him for a few days in New York City, admiring the young sound and past relationship between the two, the American artist took on a mentor role in her career. In February 2022, she was signed to Kelan Cole's label Uno Umbrella Records where she was produced under another individual. She released her debut EP "To Die For" and singles "RIP", "BeetleJuice", and "Reminders" under the label. The singers debut singles also made NPR's Heat Check weekly roundup in August 2022, [1] and the video for the track "Reminders" premiered on Complex, around August 20th 2022.

[edit]2022-present: "Lovehall Laboratories" On Feburary 14th, 2022, Reginae took to Instagram to show a sneak peak of the new labels promotion, stating that on twitter "I'm an independent woman, It's so hard to shake it" the singer went on to say her next project would be all her and released independently under Lovehall Laboratory and will be distributed by DistroKid.

Personal life
[edit]In 2019, Daya was suspected to have ended her childhood relationship with her Past girlfriend Aaliyah Hendrix after cheating allegations between the two. 2020 Reginae took to instagram posting an unknow woman leading the internet to thinking the duo might've been sparking something up until 2021 rumors of a romantic relationship between Reginae and Devyn Banks began to rise. During a break between the two more rumors sparked that former artist Kelcy and Reginae gained their romantic title back but shortly came to a stop unannouced. Picking back up Reginae and Devyn carried an on and off relationship however nothing was confirmed until the two confirmed in November of 2022 that they were official. Later seen via Instagram the duo later married April 13th and has been together since.
