Ruth Marie Jarman (Shiraishi) grew up in the multi-cultural paradise of Hawaii. Having spent time in Edinburgh as a child, she had her first taste of "international" and has been hooked ever since.
Ruth finished High School in Mililani, and received a BA at Tufts University in International Relations. She studied Japanese at Nanzan University and was hired into Recruit Co., Ltd. in 1988. She worked in general affairs for 4 years and honed Japanese ability as well as experiencing first-hand the energy and grit of a Japanese business environment.
Ruth then ran her own translation/interpreting business and learned customer service and sales first hand. She Joined Space Design and made it a prime accommodation and office-space choice for international travelers to Tokyo and Yokohama leading an international, multi-lingual team within Japan's ultra-traditional real estate sector.
Ruth Marie Jarman then started Jarman International KK on April 26, 2012 and is currently working in partnership with Akasaka Real Estate (small residential investment properties in Tokyo), HRM Association (access to 6000 SMEs across Japan), Midas Company Limited (performance improving office design solutions), H&R Group (turn-key relocation service in and out of Japan), Deep Japan (hints on how to have a more "local" experience, Enoshima Island Spa (rejuvenating hot spring and shiatsu day spa near Kamakura City), Nikkei BP for Social Innovation/Smart City Week 2014 as well as the new Japan Technology Report English language report project to help international and Japanese companies connect and grow. Her goal is to be THE business contact for Japan.
