The CRAAP Test

[edit]

The CRAAP Test can be used to evaluate the credibility and suitability of sources for basic information needs, research papers, Wikipedia:verifiability, and more. The criteria can be applied to any source type from a Tweet to scholarly journal article to a Wikipedia article.

The Meriam Library at California State University, Chico is credited for creating the test by other libraries. [1] A Meriam Library handout for the CRAAP test is dated 9/17/10. However, the library does not claim to have originated the criteria or the test.
