Vidyut is a national level techno-management multi-fest conducted by Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri. It an initative undertaken by the students of the campus under the inspiration of their divine chancellor, Mata Amritanandamayi Devi. It comprises of various technically challenging and demanding events from the fields of engineering, management, biotechnology, commerce and pure sciences. Keeping in mind Amrita's extensive research in the area of solving humanitarian issues, the theme for the event is Technology for Humanity. It also features invited talks by eminent personalities from India and abroad as well as exhibitions by organizations . It will also feature pro-shows, live performance of artists. Vidyut 2012 will be the first edition of the event and will be held from 1–3 February 2012.
Events
Vidyut comprises of more than 40 events from the field of engineering and management. The prize money is estimated to be about Rs.12 Lakhs for Vidyut 2012. Keeping the central theme in mind, the flagship events aim to solve modern day humanitarian problems. The events are certified by organizations like ACM and SAE. The events are categorized as follows

Workshops
In addition to the above events, technical workshops will be conducted in various areas like embedded robotics, 3D Game Development, etc. These workshops are aimed at enhancing the technical skills of a student by giving proper insight of the topic and hands-on experience. Invited Talks
Invited talks aim at stimulating the instincts and ideas in the mind of a student through talks of eminent personalities about their area of interest. The topics of the talks spread out of awide array of topics like technology, entrepreneurship, technical analysis, etc. The invited talks for Vidyut 2012 are:

Pro-Shows
