Yael Arava is an Israeli film maker; born in Jerusalem, raised by her grandfather, a member of the Lechi underground movement. In her early 20’s she moved to Los Angeles and later relocated in London, but always stayed attached to Israelis and Palestinians. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a big part of her work as a journalist and as a film maker. Her latest film “Mirrors” was produced about a year ago.

The Director of the film sets off on a journalistic journey, which ends up being a personal one. From the Declaration of Independence of Israel, to that of Palestine, between Jewish and Palestinian underground movements such as Lechi and Hamas. The views reflecting the pastoral landscapes and the suffocating…

Israel/Palestine –

Holy Dust - 70 min (31 June 2007) Since the dawn of Christianity, Bethlehem has been one of the holiest places of pilgrimage, but after years of Intifada, the pilgrims no longer come. Life, for Bethlehem’s residents, has become a mass of bitter contradictions.

In 1999 she created and produced a prime time program and film for the 4th anneversery for Rabin’s murder, as independent for channel 2 Israel.
