== Brighton Beach Pride ==
Brighton Beach Pride is an annual pride event that emerged on New York LGBTQ scene on May, 2017[1] as a response to discrimination against LGBTQ people in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn.
The core group of organizers were members of Russian-Speaking American LGBT Association (RUSA LBGT). Among famous people who attended the first Pride were prominent writer of Russian origin, Masha Gessen, and the Attorney General of New York Letitia James.
Brighton Beach Pride 2017
Estimated number of participants at the first event was around two hundred people. Activists marched on Riegelmann Boardwalk[2]. For safety issues events were guarded by New York Police Department.[3]
