SEAY (musician) new article content ...
SEAY (born Melissa Seay Harshaw), is an American musician, singer-songwriter, activist and philanthropist. Part of a tradition of artists and musicians, SEAY follows in the footsteps of her great aunt [Margaret Harshaw]. Though American born and raised, her early childhood years were spent traveling with her army family, which led her to the Orient (Korea and Japan), and later studies in Spain and the United Kingdom. “1 Voice”[All Music Guide 1], Seay’s debut, under her own label Tuscan Sun, hit the NAR chart in 2005 and was followed by a Best New Age Song Nomination in 2006 for “Love Is The Ocean”. “1 Voice”, a captivating and world influenced project found a worldwide listening audience on such venues as Music Choice, Soudscapes and XM Radio. As an early adopter of mixing Surround Sound, Seay's music [XMSurround 1] was part of the first global broadcasts in surround sound on [[XM_HD_Surround|XM Radio's Fine Tuning Channel. Her Follow up CD "A Winter Blessing"[All Music Guide 2] was a Holiday Top 10 and NAR Life Style Music Awards Nominee for Best Seasonal Album. Also it was noted as one of the Top 30 World Ambient Releases[Mainly Piano 1] of the decade by Mainly Pianos - Michael Debbage.
Seay is currently working on music for the film "Alone Yet Not Alone" a period piece based on the book of the same name by Tracy M Lenninger. Recently invited to be music ambassador for Project Peace On Earth, she uses her music to promote this and other causes. This year her music will once again be part of the Peace Day TV broadcast promoting the United Nations International Day of Peace on September 21st.
