Tartaglia is a pseudonym of the mathematical genius Nicolo Fontana, nicknamed that way after the horrible event he had to suffer when he was a child. After an unlucky encounter with a soldier he was hurt and remained stammerer for the rest of his life. Tartaglia is similar to the word stammerer in Italian language.
