About Me

[edit]

G'day! I'm TDT!

I hail from Melbourne, Australia. I did my Bachelor of Science in Information Technology at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, and currently work as Senior Infrastructure Engineer for a one of Australia's Leading Cancer Research and Treatment Centres - also, based in Melbourne. However, I am in the process of a lengthy interview process to move across to Amazon in a similar role, but managing a larger team. I am a user of Wikipedia - I feel like I shouldn't need to say this :).

I am relatively new to the whole editing lifestyle on Wikipedia - so cool your jets, while I suss out what's what. We should be civil and always assume good faith on Wikipedia.

I stand strong against vandalism on Wikipedia. If you take issue with my edits (or just want to have a yack) feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Remember to sign your posts on talk pages - and only on talk pages - with ~~~~ (four tildes).

My Life (on and off Wikipedia)

[edit]

I am a bibliophilia, and have been ever since I was a pup. My parents had, amongst hundreds of other books, manuals and reference material a full set of Encyclopædia Britannica along with another book, which was called "The LAst 2 Million Years", from as early as I can recall, they would have the latest editions of these books in the den - and as the technology changed, and grew Encyclopædia Britannica on CD-ROM. While I could sit and read obscure facts in the Encyclopedia for hours and hours on end, it was really latter of the two titles that absolutely fascinated me - The Last 2 Million Years, was a glossy-paged tome of about 500-odd pages detailing the major and most outstanding facts of the universe over the that time-frame, but it also had facts well before that going back to The Big Bang and the brief time (in cosmological terms) following, known as Cosmic Inflation. What is even more striking about this is the fact that both my parents were, and still are, for the most part, devout Catholics, but they never seemed to allow that fact to stand in the way, allowing me to learn and indulge in the sciences and other heretical endeavours. From the time I was six or seven. I used to read the encyclopedias and The Last 2 Million Years almost everyday (and before I could read, I would spend hours devouring the pictures and diagrams allowing my young mind to wander and dream.

I'd like to be able to tell you what the first page was, that I discovered on [[[Wikipedia]], but the truth of that matter is, I genuinely have no clue. It was, almost undoubtedly a tech page of some description, or it may have been a band page, or perhaps even a series or movie page...that about covers any page possible, really...so it almost definitely fits onto one of those categories....or maybe another one.

About this user page

[edit]

For the time being, I have allowed pretty-much anyone/everyone to edit this user page. I will try to assume good faith for every edit. However, I would just point out, that any attempt to vandalise any pages on Wikipedia, including this page will result in a Frowny Face 😫 and a very harshly worded email - if that is still not enough to convince you otherwise, and you do, do anything considered Wikipedia vandalism, I would strongly suggest you revert the page to its former glory and refrain from such trite pastimes. Failing to do so may result in a warning or even being blocked by an administrator.
