Traumfabrik is a theatre and show production located in Germany, which was founded in 1980 by the German choreographer and educationalist Rainer Pawelke. Traumfabrik is a Showtheatre which is focused on in-house and order productions as well as advanced education events and works with international artists.

Description

[edit]

The company got known for the organisation of big cultural events like the opening ceremony of the artistic gymnastics world championships in Stuttgart 1989 or the “German Day” at the world exhibition Expo 1992 in Sevilla on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany.

As a Showtheatre Traumfabrik connects modern technology – like extensive projections und computerised plasma-suits for dancers – with various kinds of theatre genres like mask-, shadow- und black theatre and the newer object theatre. Traumfabrik has its own ensemble. For the different productions external artist are integrated such as dancers, acrobats, artists and whole companies as well. For example Stuttgarter Ballett (Link), Fenfire, Jonglissimo (Link), Catwall Acrobtas and much more. The Traumfabrik Showtheatre of Phantasy can be seen every year between Christmas and New Year at the Audmiax auditorium of the University of Regensburg (Germany). Since 2010 there is a tour with 40 shows attached to this in selected cities.

In the early 1980s founder Rainer Pawelke developed in the field of advanced education the idea to expand the traditional sports with creative and playfully elements (movement arts, juggling, adventure sports, Frisbee games, rope skipping etc.). Traumfabrik furthermore presented creations in the artistically-aesthetic education like the “Sportstheatre” with among others artistic concepts for black theatre. Since 1983 these ideas are being passed to multipliers, cultural managers and educationalists. The international academy of sports culture of Traumfabrik took place every year at the University of Regensburg. In the meantime this event was renamed “Erlebnistage” and takes place once a year in locations spread over whole Regensburg. Today it is one of the biggest events of advanced trainings of this kind in Europe with more than 80 workshops (dance, theatre, artistic, play and rhythm), 40 coaches, about 1.800 available course tickets and a large cultural program.
