This Is a Recording is David Persons' first studio album, recorded in 1985 and released on the WLmG International record label. Persons was a studio musician and composer before recording this album. The album also features appearances by singer Ruthie Foster, guitarist and producer David Zycheck and other noted Texas musicians (the Instruments of Grace are fluid and comprise whoever is playing at the time). It is now out of print but is available online from several sources, including a couple of sites that offer legal free downloads. Persons has been rumored to be working on a new album 26 years after the release of This Is A Recording
