Gianni Pettena (Bolzano, 23 August 1940) is an Italian architect, artist and architectural historian. Along with Ettore Sottsass, the Italian design firm Archizoom Associati, and the architectural firm Superstudio, Pettena is a key figure of the 1960s and 1970s radical architecture and radical design movement in Italy.

Gianni Pettena was born in Bolzano in 1940. He graduated from the University of Florence in 1968 and taught at the University of Florence’s Faculty of Architecture from 1973 until 2008 as Associate professor of History of Contemporary Architecture.
