Michael T. Parkinson (born October 28, 1938), aka Mike Parkinson or M T Parkinson, is an American programming language designer, software engineer, financial analyst and physicist. Among his notable contributions is the valuation of the American Put option (something that the Black-Scholes formula does not do), the Z test for the mean of a Pareto-Levy (stable) distribution and the G test for the volatility of the Pareto-Levy (stable) distribution.
