DaYan is a company founded by Daqing Bao that sells high-quality speedcubes. Their most notable models are the DaYan GuHong, the DaYan ZhanChi, and the newest model the DaYan PanShi. DaYan is the most common brand of speedcubes used by professional speedcubers.

Controversy with V-Cube[edit]
After the release of the GuHong, V-Cube (a Greek cubing company owned by Panagiotis Verdes) immediately noticed how the GuHong's internal mechanism resembled that of the V-Cube 5, that company's version of the Professor's Cube. V-Cube contacted PayPal, and convinced them to not approve any sale of the GuHong because the mechanism of the GuHong supposedly violated the patent held by Verdes Innovations. Even though the illustrations of the design in the patent did not show any resemblance to the GuHong's design, if the pieces of the V-Cube 5 were put together in a certain way, there is a strong resemblance to the GuHong design. The V-Cube 3 mechanism resembles the GuHong mechanism which is why many people think the V-Cube 3 is a knockoff of the GuHong, but this is not the case because the V-Cube 3 design is based off that of the V-Cube 5.
