The Seal Tabby Mitted Ragdoll is a breed of the domestic cat. It has soft and slender hair and needs frequent grooming and washing to prevent knotting. It was named because of its docile temperament, which looked like a soft doll when hugged. It is quite common in the country of origin in the United States and the United Kingdom.

This kind of cat has the lowest birth survival rate among various domestic cats, with a life span of 15-25 years.

History

[edit]

In the 1960s, a domestic cat named Josephine (perhaps a Persian cat or Turkish angora) with an unknown Berman cat (or Burmese cat) gave birth to several cubs. This was the first batch of Ragdoll cats in the world. Ann Baker bought a few cats from the original owner and raised them to form the Ragdoll cat.
