Introduction

The Nechako Residence is a student residence at The University of British Columbia, Okanagan, located in the city of Kelowna, British Columbia. This is the newest student accommodation at UBC Okanagan, as it was opened in August 2021, and it features 220 single connected rooms, a 500 seat dining hall, the student residence front desk, study rooms, an activity room, the Orchard convenience store, mailboxes and a mini gym. Each floor has a common floor lounge, where residents can watch movies on the TV, cook and socialize and study with their friends. The Nechako Residence is named after the Nechako River in British Columbia.

Rooms

The Nechako residence has 220 single connected rooms (single room connected to another single room by a washroom). The rooms are furnished and comes with a Twin XL bed frame and a mattress, a study desk, a dresser, chair, a locker and a central AC for temperature control.

The Pritchard Dining hall is located on the first floor of the residence building and is managed by UBC food services. This is accessible for students with a meal plan, and also accessible to guests when they pay at the till. It is an all you can eat buffet style dining hall. Students with an all you can eat meal plan can access the dining hall whenever they want without paying extra . It consists of several stations such as the grillhouse, a pizza and pasta station, chef's table, a salad bar, nourish, a sweet spot and a beverage counter.
