K. Annamalai

K. Annamalai (born June 4, 1984) is an Indian politician and former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and currently serves as the state president of the BJP in Tamil Nadu.

Early Life and Education

Annamalai was born on June 4, 1984, in Karur, Tamil Nadu, India. He completed his schooling in Tamil Nadu. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, and holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow.

Career

Indian Police Service

Annamalai joined the IPS in 2011 and was allotted the Karnataka cadre. He served in various capacities, including Deputy Commissioner of Police (Bengaluru South) and Superintendent of Police in Udupi and Chikkamagaluru districts. He was known for his anti-corruption stance and strong administrative skills. Annamalai resigned from the IPS in 2019 to enter politics.

Political Career

Annamalai joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in August 2020 and was appointed as the vice-president of BJP Tamil Nadu unit. In July 2021, he was appointed as the state president of BJP Tamil Nadu. Under his leadership, the party has been focusing on grassroots-level organization and expansion in Tamil Nadu.
