WHAT I DO TO MAKE A BUCK

I am currently Active Duty United States Air Force with over 20 years in service. I have attended two formal universities to achieve my goal of an undergraduate degree, the University of Maryland, and the University of Phoenix. Additionally, I have achieved an Associates of Applied Science in Electronic Systems Technology, from the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF). Throughout my career I have attended classes at every one of my military assignments, in the Pacific theater, Europe, and in the U.S.

ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE

[edit]

I have attended military education (Professional Military Education) with formal attendance at Technical Training School (NSA certified Cryptologic maintenance school) Airman Leadership School, 7-level Craftsman school, and the Non-Commissioned Officer’s Academy. In addition I've attended military sponsored education with civilian certifications (CISCO, REMEDY). I attended the Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices course, and REMEDY database manager's course.

WORK /OTHER EXPERIENCE

[edit]

After graduation from Technical Training School (Lackland AFB, TX, 1990-1991), I was assigned to the 1837th Electronic Installation Squadron (1991-1993) at Yokota AB, Japan (Tokyo). At that two year assignment I was immersed in the hardware installation procedures of transforming a rudimentary structure to the completion of a fully capable secure communications center.

My next assignment in 1993-95 was at RAF Uxbridge in London, UK. During this time I was first-hand empowered to maintain cryptographic maintenance devices supporting the Digital European Backbone, on the installation and at various diplomatic locations to include Whitehall. We supported all network communications from telephone/switching, cryptographic maintenance, small computer networking, and circuit installation.

From 1995-2000, I was reassigned to the 377th Communications Squadron, Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, NM. I directly supported fixed communications cryptographic maintenance, small computer maintenance, Land Mobile Radio Maintenance and Frequency Management for the entire installation.

From 2000-2002 I was detailed to the AF Office of Special Investigations supporting their mission in counter-terrorism, counter-intelligence, fraud, and serious crime.

During 2002-2007, I returned to the United Kingdom, RAF Croughton in Northanmptonshire as the NCOIC of the Cryptographic Maintenance and Network Infrastructure, administering, monitoring, and managing the installation’s network backbone (router/switch network), installation of Voice over IP capability, and all cryptographic (Type 1) devices utilized on and off the installation and throughout the United Kingdom. Again, I interfaced with Ministry of Defence representatives all over the UK and Whitehall.

From 2007-2008, I was reassigned to Francis E Warren AFB, Cheyenne Wyoming. At this location, I was the Assistant NCOIC of Strategic Communications, 90th Missile Maintenance Squadron, managing the maintenance of critical communications circuits supporting the Minute Man III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Weapon System covering 9600 square miles in Wyoming, Nebraska, and Colorado. I am currently reassigned to the 90th Maintenance Operations Squadron on FE Warren, and I am a full time American Heart Association and American Red Cross CPR instructor, Self-Air Buddy Care Instructor, and I am the learning center’s Functional Systems Administrator for a plethora of client machines and 1 server.

DUTY TRAVEL

[edit]

I have been assigned permanently or temporarily in Japan (both mainland and Okinawa), South Korea, United Kingdom, Gibraltar, Italy/Sicily, Greece, Spain, Croatia, Macedonia, Germany, Kuwait, Qatar, and other locations with no official U.S. presence. These experiences have contributed to my ability to interact with people, and understand the commonalities that unite us all. Currently I volunteer with various local civilian and military organizations.
