Olivetti Divisumma 14
[edit]The Olivetti Divisumma 14 is an electro-mechanical printing calculator launched in 1948. Natale Capellaro directed the mechanical project and Marcello Nizzoli designed the exterior aspect.
Divisumma 14 was the first mechanical calculator on the market with the possibility of both dividing and computing a negative difference, and the first ten-key four-operation machine with printing ability.
It was part of the MC14 line of Olivetti calculators, comprised of an adding machine (Elettrosumma 14) and a multiplier machine (Multisumma 14).
It is part of the permanent exposition at MoMa.
It was substituted by Divisumma 24 in 1956, from the new line of calculators MC24.
