The Shakespeare-X Message is claimed to be a definitive statement of authorship sent to the world by the authentic author of all the literary works of Shakespeare, the celebrated and contemporaneous dramatist and poet Christopher Marlowe. The Shakespeare-X Message represents a new and primary source for historical research, one of an extremely limited number of primary sources directly relevant to Shakespeare and the authorship question. It appears to greatly surpass all other sources in authenticity and importance. The Shakespeare-X Message was first uncovered by literary novelist Lee Vidor in May 2009, during new research into the Shakespeare authorship question. The Shakespeare-X Message is a mathematically verifiable statement which appears to irrefutably solve the Shakespeare authorship question. The Shakespeare-X Message to the world from Shakespeare-Marlowe has gone unrecognized in the historical record for more than 400 years.

The Shakespeare-X Message is claimed to provide indisputable mathematical proof that the literary works of Shakespeare were not written by the actor William Shakespeare of Stratford-upon-Avon, but by the famous contemporaneous dramatist and poet, Christopher Marlowe, who is generally considered by scholars to be the unknown young Shakespeare's superior literary predecessor and rival. Christopher Marlowe was believed to have been murdered in a knife brawl in a London tavern in 1593 at the age of 29. At this time William Shakespeare of Stratford-upon-Avon was also 29, apparently still unpublished as a writer, and of uncertain success as a dramatist.

According to Lee Vidor's analysis, the clear and necessary implications of the Shakespeare-X Message are that a man named William Shakespeare, neither an actor nor writer, was deliberately brought to London from Stratford-upon-Avon, probably by Marlowe and his powerful close friend Fulke Greville of Stratford-upon-Avon, and then secretly employed by Marlowe's theater company to publicly impersonate a dramatist writing the celebrated plays we know as Shakespeare's. These plays were covertly being written by the acclaimed genius Marlowe under a secret and royally sanctioned political exile in Italy.

During this time Christopher Marlowe was thought to be dead by the general public and perhaps even by the religious powers who had politically persecuted him under threat of trial, torture and execution. The authorship imposture was known to many in the theatrical and publishing worlds, and although the imposture is often subtly alluded to in the published historical record, an authoritarian royal decree enforced a public silence by earnest threat of legal repercussion.

The Original Uncovering of the Shakespeare-X Message:

The Shakespeare-X Message was uncovered by literary novelist Lee Vidor during research into the Shakespeare authorship question as part of her 20th Century Bohemians and Angels fiction project, which explores the development of Modernism among artists and writers throughout the 20th century. In this expansive fourteen volume project Lee Vidor defines, explores and dramatizes the 20th Century as a Modernist Renaissance for mankind.

Presentation of The Shakespeare-X Message and Imposture Proof:

Lee Vidor defines and presents The Shakespeare-X Message as follows:

'When the name Christopher Marlowe is split apart and the name William Shakespeare placed inside it, together the names spell out a clear, unencrypted, coherent, message which is a unique and unambiguous statement of authorship.'

WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

CHRISTOPHER MARLOWE

CHRIST WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE OPHER MARLOWE

CHRISTWILLIAMSHAKESPEAREOPHERMARLOWE

CHRIST WILL I AM SHAKESPEARE OPHER MARLOWE

Christ Will I Am Shakespeare Over Marlowe

The Mathematical Probability of The Shakespeare- X Message:

A Mathematical Model By Christian Name:

Historical data records of masculine English Christian names from c1600, as taken from funerary brass rubbings on gravestones and grave slabs, and provided by the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology of Oxford University, indicate that the probability of any two randomly chosen men in the Elizabethan Age together having the names William and Christopher is 1 chance in 1212. This is regardless of all other contextual factors, including whether they are both dramatists or not.

Christopher and William are the only two male Christian names of the period which together form any message of any type whatsoever. The Shakespeare-X Message is a coherent message of seven discrete and grammatically related words.

A Mathematical Model Of Context:

Lee Vidor's contextual mathematical model calculates that the mathematical probability of this entirely coherent, seven word, statement of authorship appearing by chance in context in the combined names of two such directly competing contemporaneous theater dramatists and poets is; 1 chance in 25.97 x 10 to the power of 30.

Lee Vidor states: 'This means that the mathematical certainty that Christopher Marlowe wrote the works attributed to William Shakespeare is 99.9999999999999999999999999999740%.

This level of mathematical certitude is very greatly in excess of that demanded of any new scientific theory, in any academic field, by any and all world scientific governing bodies and academic scientific communities, in the declaration of a result as a proof rather than a conjecture.'

Ongoing Proceedings Regarding the Shakespeare-X Message:

The Shakespeare-X Message is currently under debate in the academic Shakespeare community, including the Folger Shakespeare Library, Washington DC, and has been for the last three years. No-one in the Shakespearean academic community has offered a refutation of any kind.

Mathematicians and scientists of the world have been directly challenged to mathematically refute Lee Vidor's proof. In five years no-one has done so. Neither has anyone from the academic Shakespeare community commented on the Shakespeare-X Message, or its inevitably disastrous consequences for Shakespearean academia.

It is Lee Vidor's contention that the message is unequivocal and mathematically irrefutable and is a proof of an authorship imposture by Christopher Marlowe which will endure in perpetuity. She states that she has irrefutably proved that the works of Shakespeare are misattributed, and should be re-assigned to the dramatist and poet, Shakespeare-Marlowe.

Quotes on the Shakespeare-X Message from Lee Vidor:

'The future will not be amazed that Marlowe wrote the works of Shakespeare, it will be amazed that we managed to get it so wrong for 400 years in the face of such overwhelming evidence. As soon as you realize that Marlowe actually wrote Shakespeare, it is blindingly obvious that he did. The Shakespeare-X Message takes the imposture out of the human blind spot. Quickly you begin to be utterly amazed that anyone could ever have thought otherwise.'

'The mathematical nature of the proof means that its conclusion cannot be refuted by mere scholarly opinion, no matter how distinguished the academic reputation of the disputant. The thesis of an authorship imposture, as founded on the evidence of the Shakespeare-X Message, can only be refuted using the established laws of mathematics. Mathematics are not a matter of opinion.'

'The Shakespeare-X Message proves with mathematical certainty that the actor William Shakespeare did not write the literary works attributed to his name, regardless of everything which has previously been thought and written on the subject of Shakespearean authorship throughout all history. The official coroner's document concerning the murder of Christopher Marlowe in Deptford in 1593 has been proven by the Shakespeare-X Message to not reveal the truth of the murder.'

'What caused this failure of academia is careerist ambition and groupthink. It was not a conspiracy, but rather the authoritarian enforcement of a powerful dogma. Ideology is always the enemy of truth and scholarship.'

'Academic scholarship will take decades to recover from this crisis. And not only in the field of Shakespearean studies. It is crucially important that all of academia quickly responds to this crisis with courage and honesty, if it is to retain public credibility.'

Mathematicians and scientists of the world are directly encouraged to publicly support or attempt to refute the Shakespeare-X Message. The world requires you do this in order to correct Shakespearean scholars who can neither grasp the conclusive mathematics, nor face the consequences of their utterly devastating error. Without respect for the scientific method the world is lost in superstition.'

'The Shakespeare-X Message is everything a Shakespeare lover could hope for.'
