The Federal Democratic Republic of the Philippines (Spanish: Republica Democratica Federal de Filipinas, Tagalog: Рэпублика Дэмократика Пэдэрал Нг Пилипинас, tr. Republika Demokratika Pederal ng Pilipinas, Cebuano: Републіка Демократіка Педерал Са Піліпінас, tr. Republika Demokratika Pederal sa Pilipinas) is a sovereign island country in Asia. This is a concept aimed at reforming the Philippines into a federal parliamentary socialist democracy.

Background, Structures, and Other Information

[edit]

The FDRP has a socialist federal parliamentary form of government. The President is the nominal head of state and the commander-in-chief of the armed forces. The President is elected by popular term for a renewable six-year term. The President defines the policy objectives of the goverment. The Prime Minister serves as the head of government and the Cabinet and handles the day-to-day operations of the government and carries out the objectives laid out by the President. The Prime Minister is either appointed by the President, elected by popular vote, or by a confidence vote of the parliament. The Parliament of the Philippines is a bicameral body, made up of the lower house, Batasang Bayan, of which the representatives are elected by constituency. The state governors also serve as members of the upper house, the Sangguniang Bayan. The Supreme People's Court is composed of a Chief Justice and judges appointed by the President based on recommendations by the Judicial and Bar Council.

Foreign relations

[edit]

The FDRP's foreign policy is based on Asia-Pacificism, which justifies its strong relations with Pacific and Latin American countries. The FDRP enjoys strong diplomatic, economic, and military relations with North Korea, Russia and the rest of the Eurasian Economic Union, Cuba, Venezuela, Ukraine, Spain, Israel, , Greece, and other countries. The FDRP has also generally avoided some of its Asian neighbors, the United States, and the European Union. The FDRP has taken steps to create a free trade agreement with Spain and other countries in Latin America.
