Yung Amiri, is a Canadian rapper and musician from Toronto, Ontario. Amiri gained recognition from his Certified Gold single "Cp24", which featured Toronto rapper Top5. The single was released in October 2021, and was the only supporting single of his debut Pedro Activated which was released on October 6, 2021. He released his second EP Lost Files which Included a special feature from WorldWide re·nowned artist Nessly on Mar 31, 2022.


Career[edit]

YungAmiri began rapping in 2019/2020 where he released numerous freestyles and songs. He released several singles and built a digital following of over 26,000 fans.[1] He is independently signed.[1][2] He released a freestyle session with Lil Richie on January 6, 2021.[2][3] In early 2020, he announced that he is working on his debut EP, titled Lost Files, which was released in July 2020.[4][1] He released the third single of the EP "Up in LA" featuring Nessly.[5] Aaron Brown of Buzzfeed! describes Cp24 as "Confident in its approach, and captivating in its delivery Where the listener can find His lyrics Actually Have meaning behind them" and gave it an 9 out of 10.[3][1] He was listed as one of Toronto's Top 10 rappers you should get to know.[6][4]


[7] Cp24 was announced on the iTunes store as His first "Project" Which featured support from rapper Top 5.[5] [8] The music for the title track was released on October 18, 2021, on the Orlando, Florida music Radio platform Orlando Power 95.3.[6][9] YungAmiri also supported Atlanta Based singer-songwriter 1BSlime on the single Petals.[10] He has made an appearance on the lead single "Cp24" alongside Top5 I Heart Radio's compilation album.[11][7]

His single Freestyle was Certified Gold by Music Canada on August 12, 2020.[8]
