Agnieszka Skalniak (born 22 April, 1997) is a Polish professional cyclist competing in road races and time trials. In 2018 she was a member of the Sport Vlaanderen-Etixx team.

Life

Skalniak was born in southern Poland in Muszyna in 1997. She was a very successful junior cyclist. She started her road cycling career in 2012 at the Tramwajarz Łódź club. In her first season in the junior category she won the bronze medal over the 72 km of the 2014 UCI Road World Championships – Women's junior road race.[1] In December 2014, she became a member of the Néstle Fitness Cycling club [1]. In the same year, she also took the 15th position in the junior race during the European road cycling championship [2].

Skalniak won the gold medal in the junior section of the individual time trial. In the road races she finished in 15th place. In 2015, she also once again won the bronze medal of the UCI Road World Championships – Women's junior road race.[1][2]

In October 2016, she signed a contract with the Astana Women's Team.

Due to her talent, she is compared to mountain cyclist Maja Włoszczowska and Michał Kwiatkowski.
