Belleville Tweed is a Canadian alternative rock band originating from Zurich, Ontario. The current band lineup consists of founding members, vocalist and guitarist Violet Regier, and vocalist and bassist Sarah Chambers.

History

Capitol8 (2017-2021)

Belleville Tweed, initially known as Capitol8, was founded by Violet Regier, Jaxon Pettapiece, and Ethan Relouw while attending St. Anne's Catholic Secondary School in Clinton, Ontario. Relouw and Pettapiece eventually left the band in early 2018, and no songs were recorded with this lineup. During the band's early years, Regier released five singles in various styles, ranging from dream pop to electronic rock. All songs were written and recorded in her makeshift bedroom studio.

Belleville Tweed (2021-present)

Following limited success in her solo work, Regier enlisted Sarah Chambers. The two met before their first year at Sheridan College. Regier's friend, Nicole Di Bisceglie, later joined as a session drummer. The band signed a record deal with Di Bisceglie's label, International Bedrooms. The Belleville Tweed EP (2023) was written during Regier and Chambers' first year at college while living in dormitories. The album was recorded during their second year and released in the summer of 2023, following a single.
