Z.com is the global brand of Japan's Internet services provider, GMO Internet Group,[1] one of Japan’s largest Internet Services Provider and operator of the country’s largest domain registrar.[2] It also operates as a single-letter second-level domain and is one of three existing single-letter domain names in the .com namespace.[3]
History
[edit]In 2014, GMO Internet Group made headlines when it bought the Z.com domain name from Nissan for JPY800 million (around US$6.8 million at the time of sale).[4] The group also announced its intention to become a global player with the unveiling of its new international brand.[5]
