Wendy Higgins

Wendy Higgins is a British animal rights campaigner with many years experience in animal advocacy, specialising in anti-vivisection issues. Formerly she was the Campaigns Manager for animal welfare charity EarthKind, where her work concentrated on marine conservation issues such as whaling, dolphin by-catch, beach-cleans, seal protection and others. In 1999 she joined the BUAV as Campaigns Director where for some six years she was responsible for launching highly successful, eye-catching and effective campaigns on a range of issues such as chemicals testing, cosmetics and household product testing and primate research. Ms Higgins is now Communications and Media Director for The Dr Hadwen Trust, the UK's leading non-animal medical research charity. She is a committed vegan and passionate animal rights professional, with an established record in public campaigning, government policy, regulation and ethics. Ms Higgins continues to work with animal protection organisations across the globe to bring an end to the suffering of animals in laboratories.
