Nightmare On 19th Street
Nightmare On 19th Street is a haunted scream park in Lubbock, Texas. The park is located in the rear area of the Lonestar Events Center at 602 East 19th [1].
The park actually was planned to be in an underground area at the front of the property but that area was condemned. An indoor/outdoor haunt with three attractions was put together in the areas used for concerts and a large field that was adjacent to the area. In 2009 Nightmare moved to its current location in the back of the property.
In 2018 Nightmare consisted of four attractions; Blood Moon Manor, The Wastelands, Devil Doll Island and Clowntown 3d. Some of these haunted areas have/had sub areas like "The Grinder" and "Voodoo Alley". The attractions are linked together with outdoor graveyards and other spooky sites. Nightmare opens the last weekend or September and continues through either Halloween weekend or the weekend after. Nightmare also traditionally opens for Valentines Day[2].
Nightmare has rotated through other attraction themes including "The Witches Walk", "The Lost City", "Area 51", "Twisted Tales" and "The Sanitarium".
In October of 2018 Nightmare was measured by GPS and from the start of the first attraction, directly through all of the other attractions, and to the very end of the stoop of the last attraction came to 1.24 miles or 6547 linear feet of scares. The park is currently sorting though challengers to the title of "Longest Scream Park In America".
Nightmare On 19th Street is also known for its community service, donating to many different community organizations, sponsoring an annual blood drive and a "little kids trick or treat" event.
