A strumpini is a 35-string instrument played by Michael Mercer (b. circa 2002). It has a history of a thirty-string guitar he wanted to make for his father, guitarist Jordan Mercer (b. Dec. 26, 1979).
Tuning
[edit]The tuning is five octaves lower than a bass. The tuning is A,C,E,G,B,D,F,A,C,E,G,B,D,F,A,C,E,G,B,D,F,A,C,E,G,B,D,F,A,C,E,G,B,D,F. It hardly ever goes out of tune.
History
[edit]It has been produced since 2010. Michael Mercer only uses it when playing "Radioactive", and "Back Down South" by the Kings of Leon.
Construction
[edit]They have a mahogany fretboard, a spruce body, and an evergreen head. Michael Mercer uses Fender strings.
