IBM Communication Service Enablers (ICSE) software portfolio[1] provides communication services with a modular services delivery platform. Earlier referred to as IBM WebSphere software for Telecom, this product suite[2] is built on IBM WebSphere Application Server and contains six components:

Components[edit]

WebSphere Telecom Web Services Server (TWSS)[3] is based on SOA platform and gives third-party application developers access to telecom networks.

WebSphere Presence Server[3] is an IMS-compliant server that manages presence information.

WebSphere XML Document Management Server (XDMS)[3] manages XML documents.

WebSphere IP Multimedia Subsystem Connector (IMSC)[3] comprises Ro (online charging web service interface), Rf (offline charging web service interface connecting to an accounting server), Sh [web service interface connecting to a Home Subscriber Server (HSS)], and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Capability (monitoring of the performance metrics and fault/alarm statistics). Trust Association Interceptor (TAI) is provided along with the IMS Connector for security.

WebSphere Transaction Capabilities Application Part (TCAP) Connector enables WebSphere-based enterprise applications to communicate with the larger Intelligent Network (IN) component of a Communication Service Provider using a web service-based interface.

WebSphere Telecom Toolkit[4] runs on Rational Application Developer and helps developers build or enhance applications.
