Hackers/Founders[edit]

Hackers/Founders (H/F) provides services to help tech startups scale, while making innovative financial products for investors.

H/F started as a small networking group for tech entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley. Over the past decade, it has extended to 128 cities around the globe with over 300,000 attendees.

The H/F Co-op is H/F’s growth program for startups, which started in 2012 and expanded beyond Silicon Valley for the first time in 2015. 55 post-product stage tech companies, including 30 with revenue, comprise the existing portfolio. To date, the Co-op has had seven exits from four funds in five years.

History[edit]

In 2008, Jonathan Nelson was working as a full-time ER Nurse and coding at home in his spare time. Eventually, his wife, Laura Nelson, got fed up and told him he needed to go out and find other entrepreneurs like himself. This gave birth to the first Hackers/Founders meetup at St. Johns Bar and Grill in Sunnyvale, California. [1]

Within three years, Hackers/Founders had grown to become a large network of meetups for startup communities all around the World. Hackers/Founders chapters can now be found in 128 cities in 47 countries.

In 2011, Hackers/Founders launched their Co-op accelerator to provide concierge services to early-stage startups under a unique business model. [2]Some of the companies in the accelerator include Pieceable[3] , Synata [4] , Tripping and Fiverun whom all have been acquired by companies like Facebook and Cisco or raised a considerable amount of funding.
