The Consulate General of Romania in Bălţi (Romanian: Consulatul General al României la Bălţi) is a consulate general of Romania to Moldova.

History

The Consulate was opened on 9 July 2010. The event brought together the Moldovan and Romanian Ministers of Foreign Affairs - Iurie Leancă and Teodor Baconschi, Marius Lazurcă, MPs, representatives of the local administration.[1]

The Consulate of Romania to Bălţi will cover such areas as: Bălţi town, districts of Rîbnița, Briceni, Râşcani, Glodeni, Sângerei, Donduşeni, Soroca, Drochia, Teleneşti, Edineţ, Camenca, Făleşti, Ocniţa, Floreşti, Rezina, and Şoldăneşti.[1]

The building of the Consulate, covering a total area of 860 square metres (9,300 sq ft), is located at the crossroads of Sfântul Nicolae and Lăpuşneanu streets.[2] The Consulate has got 22 employees and citizens will be provided the entire amount of consular services. The general consul is Nicanor Dumitru Teculescu, former consul general of Romania to Toronto, during 2002-2008.

The Romanian Consular Office in Ungheni, inaugurated on 26 May 2011, is an integral part of the General Consulate in Bălţi.[3]
