The Tokyo Metro 03 series (Japanese: 東京メトロ03系, Hepburn: Tōkyō Metoro 03-kei) is a Japanese electric multiple unit (EMU) train type. First introduced on 1 July 1988 by Tokyo Metro on the Hibiya Line, a total of 42 eight-car trainsets were built between 1988 and 1994 by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Nippon Sharyo, Kinki Sharyo, and Tokyu Car Corporation.[1] Tokyo Metro began withdrawing the type from March 2017 until February 2020, following the introduction of new 13000 series trainsets. Some 03 series cars were sold to the Kumamoto Electric Railway from 2018, and to the Nagano Electric Railway from 2020.
