Zyrene Kitong (born June 13, 2000) is one of the Filipina well-known lawyers, accountant and commentator on political and economic issues in her time. A graduate of University of Philipines Diliman, Kitong began his career in law gaining many awards and compliments.
During those time, her only goal is to seek for truth and justice for those who were abandoned and victimized by the society. Also, at the age of 30, she was able to hold and to justify 10 cases about rape, murder and Violence Against Women (VAWC). She got many awards for the success of her battle at her young age. She always knew that the truth will always prevail.
From the land of beauty and harmony, Asipulo, her hometown where she grew up from a simple yet strict family. Her family taught her to be truthful, honest and humble on dealing with other people. She was raised nourishing the cultures from her hometown with her. Later, after graduating as Accountancy, she continued studying the Bachelor of Laws in the University of the Philippines Diliman while working in ABC & Com. in Manila. Meanwhile, from the workplace she’s been working, he met her husband- Frenzel Ngabit and they married after at the age of 30 and blessed with two children, Rein and Max. Together with her family, they moved to Baguio City for good and because of their job also but later went to Calamba City, Laguna. Unfortunately, at the age of 53, news were everywhere saying that she was declared death on arrival after involving into a car accident after the trial from her one of her client.
The hard works and perseverance of hers was a great bloom in her life and also by being a helping hand to other people. Her kindness and eagerness left a mark in hearts and minds of every Filipino and in our society. She was once a hero.
Also, during her married life, she was able to publish a book entitled “The Prevail Truth.” In her book, you will know and acknowledge on how she believe truth can set a person free. This book can be an inspiration to an individual to speak for truth and justice for themselves and to other people. The truth will lead the society to a peaceful and harmonious relationship
Early life
[edit]Zyrene Kitong was born and grew up in simple way of life in Asipulo, the youngest municipality in Ifugao where her ancestors have lived. She is the youngest daughter of Dionisio Kitong- a farmer and former legislative official and Mary Jane Kitong- a teacher from a public elementary school. Also, she have three (3) sisters and 2 (brothers). Her sisters are namely, Joydee Laureta (Police Senior Master Sergeant), Jaybee Daulayan (Journalist and Administrative Aide), Sarah Kitong (DAP) and brothers are Jandee Kitong (Civil Engineer) and Jade Kitong ( Mechanical Engineer). Also, her brother Jandee Kitong joined the politics to continue the advocacy of their father and won as their Municipal Mayor for three (3) executive terms.
Furthermore, there’s a said that their parents were strict but kind at the same time. They always wanted is what good for their children. As the youngest, she was strictly guarded by his siblings when it comes to love, career and passion but she never complains about it yet she took it as a challenge to pursue her dreams.
In 2042, the news came out that her mother passed away because of Myocardial Infarction. After a year of her mother's death, her father passed away due to Interstitial lung disease (ILD). Her parents' death was a severe and overwhelming shock or grief for her. She can't handle herself being an emotionally weak when it comes to her parents but with the help of her family, she was able to overcome and continue her fight. She always keep in mind what her first teachers had taught her. She used it as an inspiration and weapon to continue the battle and life flow.
Personal Life
[edit]Kitong is married to commentator and lawyer Frenzel Nacod- am Ngabit, who is from Ifugao also. They met in ABC & Com. in Manila where she is an accountant back and Ngabit is a company lawyer. In June 13, 2030, they got married and blessed with two (2) children, Max and Rein born in 2030 and 2031, respectively. After getting married, they live in La Trinidad, Benguet and later move to Calamba City where she owns a rest house which she received as a gift from her godparents.
Career
[edit]Legal and academic career
[edit]With the fighting spirit she had, she was able to pursue her dreams and passion. During her elementary days, she always tell her family that she will become a teacher someday so she did her best and graduated with honors and awards in the year 2012. In her high school times, her dream to become a teacher shifted for becoming a public lawyer. In 2016, she finished her Junior High School in their province and came up to Baguio City to finish up her Senior High in the University of the Cordilleras and graduated with a strand of Accountancy, Business and Management with honors. In 2024, she graduated a degree of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy in the University of the Cordilleras as Cum Laude. As soon as she graduated, she had her Board exam review and passed the board exam as the third (3rd) top notcher to be officially a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 2025.
Later, she want to push her limits to become a public lawyer. But upon studying the degree of Bachelor of Laws in the University of the Philippines Diliman, she was able to get a job as an accountant in Manila. She synchronize her studies and work. She had her ups and downs. At first she plan to change her path on becoming a lawyer because of discouragements of other people saying that “she can’t” or “will she able to reach or pursue?” but she believed that she can. She always believe in her ability as a person. So she never planned to give up and back out. She was that very determined, strong and had faith to meet her dreams. She took the pressures, stress, criticisms, and failures as challenges to keep on moving forward. After the hectic schedule, she was able to manage her work and study very well. After four (4) years of studying, she graduated as Suma Cum Laude with victory and confidence. Then, she took the Bar exam with faith and determination and the result came out and luckily she placed as a 5th top notcher. She once said that, “Eagerness and determination are the keys to Success.”
Writing career
[edit]Kitong was once a writer. She published her first ever book "The Prevail Truth" in the year 2031. She wrote the book because of her willpower about truth and justice. She highlighted in her book that it is important to seek for truth and justice. Don't let the other people steal the justice and privilege from the other people. Almost Two (2) years before she finished her book. She make sure that her book would be an asset to everyone to prevail their justice in the right way. Also, she was about to publish her another book entitled "The Silent Cry" but unfortunately she died in a car accident. However, her husband don't want that his wife efforts and willingness would be waste so he decided to let the book be published on memory of his wife.
Political career
[edit]Kitong began his political career as a public lawyer in City hall, Baguio City in 2031 and later in City Hall, Calamba City in the year 2041. During her stay in Baguio City Hall, she was able to hold seven (7) major cases successfully. She brought a break through to Baguio City Hall and to Baguio City itself. She received an award of 'Best Woman Lawyer of the Year' for five (5) executive years. On May 13, 2039, The Manila Times Newspaper speculated on the possibility on Kitong having actually been Deep Throat. Kitong responded over the years by telling the truth about the accusation to her as Deep Throat. She mentioned that one of his co- worker falsified information to the famous source. She decided to resign leaving this message, "If there is such a thing as karma, if there is such a thing as justice in this life or the next, that woman bought herself the worst future of any man on this earth."
Leaving the city, together with her family she decided to move in Calamba City where she was being offered to be a public lawyer in Calamba City Hall. After the ten (10) years of service in Baguio, she continued her advocacy to Calamba City Hall. With the help of her husband during her first years, she was able to solve three (3) cases that made her comeback as one of the best lawyers. She brought also a break through to Calamba City. Her husband is her associate through her ups and downs. She then awarded as one of the 'Best Performing Lawyer' for four (4) executive years.
In September 15, 2053, after the trial that day with her client, while driving home she got into an car accident. The media claims that she had over speed and is intake of drugs after what the police officer find on her coat. But her family defended that she could never that knowing that she had a family behind her. Her family mentioned that someone intentionally destroyed her brake put some drug her coat, in short she was frame- up by the other party. The investigation went well and came up that she was really frame- up but no one who did it. Her husband and siblings continue the fight until the culprit was caught.

[edit]Kitong is an opponent of legalization of death penalty and was given a Pro- Life Award in 2033 by the National Speech and Debate Association.
