PS: I'm curious, are you a conservative or a liberal, Liz? I know you're probably a neomarxist who belongs in a secluded island like Cuba but I can't help but wonder.--Spectatorbot13 (talk) 02:32, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Oh, and I just noticed that you wrote "...to bring him to the annual family gathering," instead of "to invite him." Also, why did you refer to him as a "child" when he was 21 years old at the time? Do you realize how much this reveals about you? You sound like an extremely pushy woman with no respect for anyone's feelings or boundaries. If your son was this submissive to let himself get pushed around so much by you, it proves you've been rather abusive and not as loving like you claimed. You can bullshit to the media all you want but any educated/experienced person can see right through your shrewed little games.--Spectatorbot13 (talk) 06:03, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Online Gamers Anonymous, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

 1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
 2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
 3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
 4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. -- Scarpy (talk) 21:32, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

helpme I am trying to add a picture of my son and it is not working.

I did everything it said to do. Where is the picture?
(edit conflict) Hi Lizwool. If the image is of Shawn, it's uploaded; sometimes it takes a little while for images to propagate through the servers. My concern is that you have a stark conflict of interest when it comes to articles involving your son. I understand--we all understand--how you feel about his tragic death. But Wikipedia isn't here to promote any point of view at all; our articles must be neutral, verifiable, and must rely on reliable sources for facts and statements to be included. Again, I don't wish to diminish your feelings in any way whatsoever. For a mother to lose a child is an awful and horrible thing, and I recognise that you are trying to both keep his memory alive and to help ensure that no mother ever has to go through what you have. But it might be best, and I mean this with all respect, for you to take a step back and allow neutral minds to contribute to those articles. This is nothing against you; in fact I would be horrified if any mother could remain completely neutral after such an event. It is to your immense credit that your edits are as neutral as they are. I hope you understand where I'm coming from, and that I mean no disrespect to you or to your son's memory. I would be happy to help you with anything you need on Wikipedia, just leave a message here or on my talk page. roux ] [x] 01:40, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Thank you for your comments. I am trying to stay as neutral as possible. Just want to keep the facts straight. Thank you for your help with the picture. Liz

helpme I am attempting to load my son's picture to his article. I cannot figure out how to do it. I already loaded it to wikipedia. Now I cannot find it.

I have added the pic above to the article. Place any more help messages on this page, not your user page. Thanks 211.30.109.24 (talk) 01:45, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Liz. I understand you want to keep the facts straight... in the future, though, could you add references when you add information to articles? Here's how. For future reference, to add an image to an article, just follow the directions here. roux ] [x] 01:49, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How can I lock a page, so changes cannot be made to it?

helpme How can I lock a page, so changes cannot be made to it?

Hi, you can request protection at WP:RPP. Usually, articles in the mainspace are protected only if it is subjected to problematic editing uncontrollable by WP:Blocks, such as vandalism from number of IPs. -Unpopular Opinion (talk · contribs) 13:39, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

indefinite full protection. Has been here since 2002. All of a sudden people started changing it. I don't know who. No longer needs to be edited or changed. 98.211.54.129 (talk) 15:02, 14 December 2008 (UTC) lizwool[reply]

I hope I did this right.

Indefinite Full Protection

I have asked for indefinite full protection for this article, and have heard nothing back.

I checked the article again today, and it has been completely vandalized again.

It has been disputed by someone I have never heard of, who knows nothing of the situation and what really happened.

Can I please get help with this?

How do I get the DISPUTE off of the front page?

Response to your response

Well fuck me..... Liz Woolley, is that really you? I didn't know people like you can learn how to use computers and edit Wikipedia! Wow!

I am the person who created the new section titled "Wikipedia is not a news source." I didn't have an account at the time I created it. And seeing that you're still too delusional to grasp my message, I'll try again more concisely.

Firstly, gaming isn't and never can be an "addiction." Maybe this is rocket science to an uneducated housewife like yourself, but an addiction is a PHYSICAL thing, not a psychological thing. The REASON for getting addicted is psychological. An addiction is when you excessively consume a certain substance and develop a dependence for that substance in order to function normally. I'm personally still dependant on valium, oxy and a couple other painkillers and antidepressants that I'm close to completely expunging from my system, but it's unlikely I'll ever get off of valium. If I stop taking my daily dose of any of these, my immunity decreases and I start to get sick (same reason why heroin addicts have to keep shooting up, even when it doesn't get them high anymore, their body is dependant on it, plain and simple.) THIS is a real addiction, Miss Woolley. Needing to make pixels on your screen move is far from any classic addiction recognized by a certified doctor.

You are an avid gamer defending you drug of choice. Excessive gaming can be harmful to some people. It also shows that you have removed yourself from the lives of those who are conflicted with your choices.

Yes, I've made my personal choice and I'm pursuing my happiness, maybe this bugs you, but I'm just exercising my American virtues, like anyone with self-respect would do. You should too, you know.

You know nothing about me, my education and life's experience and what really happened to my son. Another opinion of yours, showing your insensitivity to others in this world.

I don't know you personally, or Shawn, I'll give you that. All I know is that you sound a lot like my mom——narcissistic neo-marxist, dumb as shit, out-of-touch, delusional and blames everybody else for her problems. Kept sending me to therapy because she didn't like my personality, kept pushing untested pills on me and mainly did whatever she could to rob me of my childhood, because I didn't turn out like the son in her delusional fantasies and was jealous that I was a bright and happy kid. However, I maintained my self-respect and grew up, your son clearly didn't.

I feel bad for your parents - having a child end up like you did. So do I, they have a son who graduated with flying colors, has an IQ of 131, a good job, his own house and his own business sometime in the future, but wants nothing to do with them, and legally changed his last name because he doesn't wanna disgrace himself by being associated with trash.

As for my breaking down the door - what would you have done? Left your child rot in there? (Here is another fact you know nothing about because you weren't there - I was instructed by the landlord to breakdown the door.)

Um, what kind of dump was he living in if the landlord didn't even have a goddamn master key, and would rather blow $500 on replacing his door? Jeez... you call me insensitive but I DO sympathize with Shawn, even more so now than before.

From your message here, I see you as a very insensitive person, who only cares about his gaming and not the real people in his life. Wrong, I care very much for my girl and the many friends we've had since forever. If it wasn't for her support, I don't think I would've kept my sanity and probably would end up slitting my wrists like Shawn did. However, still being slightly emotionally distraught, I am (contrary to what you think) too sensitive for my own good, I don't like letting people in my head. I have great distrust in people and am extremely cautious when interacting with ones I don't know.

Anyway, you really need to come to terms with yourself because YOU and only you are responsible for Shawn's death. I personally don't play Everquest, but to the best of my knowledge there are (or were) 400,000 Everquest players and your son is the only known player who committed suicide. 399,999 other players didn't commit suicide, and didn't have housewife Elizabeth Woolley for a mother either.

Sony may have designed and fine-tuned Everquest to be really fun and addictive, but so has the manufacturer of my car. They introduced many technological feats and kickass exteriors to entice me and other customers to buy their product. This is what capitalism is, Liz. Moreover, the customer, as an adult is expected to exercise some common sense when using their products. Nobody can stop you from buying 50 bottles of Sprite, drinking all of it simultaneously and killing yourself. Similarly, nobody can stop you from playing 60 hours of Everquest and neglecting to eat, shower, sleep etc. It is just assumed that as an adult you are mature enough to think "Ok dude, I can't keep drinking 2L of Sprite a day, I gotta take a break, enough's enough." If Shawn lacked this basic competence, only you are to blame and nobody else.

The way children are raised greatly influences how they develop in later life, and surely you cannot deny that you and his father have been more involved in his life than anybody/anything else. You aren't in 5th grade anymore, Elizabeth, start taking responsibility for your own fuckups and quit trying to punish others for your defects.

PS: I'm curious, are you a conservative or a liberal, Liz? I know you're probably a neomarxist who belongs in a secluded island like Cuba but I can't help but wonder.--Spectatorbot13 (talk) 02:32, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
