Backgammon and other tables games

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've reverted some of your edits categorising various tables games as "Backgammon variants". Backgammon is a relatively recent member of the ancient family of tables games that goes back many centuries and has resulted in games in other countries many of which predate Backgammon and/or are not developed from it but from earlier tables games. There are a few genuine Backgammon variants - Hypergammon and Chouette - but these are already in the "Backgammon" category. Cheers. Bermicourt (talk) 13:07, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
