Information icon Hello. In a recent edit to the page Copper(II) sulfate, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the first author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. 🇺🇲JayCubby✡ plz edit my user pg! Talk 16:05, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It is a wrong mistransliteration that sulphur is called sulfur in american english instead of british english so it should always be removed everywhere on wikipedia. 120.56.104.252 (talk) 16:14, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That is a fair statement, but the article is in American English. If you want to change it, could you get consensus on the talk page? Google Trends shows 'sulfuric acid' to be more prevalent worldwide, also 🇺🇲JayCubby✡ plz edit my user pg! Talk 16:25, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, Google Books Ngram Viewer shows as of late, sulfuric is more common as well 🇺🇲JayCubby✡ plz edit my user pg! Talk 16:27, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But Google Generative AI shows that Sulphuric Acid existed from ancient times to today while Sulfuric Acid only existed since 1920s CE and is derived from it in a wrong pronounciation just like grey being the correct form in british english since ancient times while gray is a wrong modern mistransliteration in american english and derived from it in wrong pronounciation and we should use what is correct, not commonly used and Sulphuric is more commonly used in the world! 120.56.104.252 (talk) 16:59, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You can say like that fair, but the page is in British English as Sulphuric Acid existed before Sulfuric Acid! Consensus on talk page shows Sulphuric Acid is more commonly used. Google's Generative AI shows Sulphuric Acid is more common worldwide, so it should be used! 120.56.104.252 (talk) 17:02, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Although sulfur, not sulphur, is used by Wikipedia, even if sulphur has been along for longer and is accepted by the rest of the world:
Traditionally, the names of three elements have been spelled differently in different parts of the English speaking world. For articles about chemistry-related topics, Wikipedia follows the spellings recommended by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) (see Wikipedia:SULF) 🇺🇲JayCubby✡ plz edit my user pg! Talk 17:07, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But these spellings are wrong in wikipedia and that's why they should be removed now! 120.56.104.252 (talk) 17:35, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Again, take it up on the talk page. There is established consensus that Wikipedia (which follows IUPAC) uses sulfur. Granted, consensus can change, but this is through a wider discussion. Please put it on the appropriate talk page if you'd like to start a discussion. 🇺🇲JayCubby✡ plz edit my user pg! Talk 17:52, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your wikipedia already mentions Aluminium and Caesium in British English and you cannot show partiality to Sulphur alone which is wrong so you should first know rules of wikipedia and change all sulfur to sulphur in wikipedia immediately now! 117.196.157.189 (talk) 02:39, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, aluminium and caesium are spelled that way because the IUPAC decided to spell them as such. 🇺🇲JayCubby✡ plz edit my user pg! Talk 13:28, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
IUPAC and British English and the entire world and all time spells Sulphur as Sulphur only and not as Sulfur, which is wrong always as a wrong spelling of Sulphur. Your own Wikipedia mentions Aluminium as Aluminium and Caesium as Caesium and all elements in British English only and showing this partiality and hypocrisy for Sulphur alone as Sulphur not Sulfur is totally wrong and i am going to edit the page Copper(II) Sulphate now itself and i will edit your user page now itself! 2001:4490:48F:A6FA:0:0:0:1 (talk) 06:53, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
See Aluminium section spelling. IUPAC recognized aluminium in 1990. Go ahead and disrupt wikipedia, but you will get blocked. 🇺🇲JayCubby✡ please edit my user page! Talk 17:16, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Again, i am telling you, IUPAC and British English and the entire world and all time spells Sulphur as Sulphur only and not as Sulfur, which is wrong always as a wrong spelling of Sulphur. You will be blocked if you are edit warring with me now itself if you fight against me now itself! 117.231.194.169 (talk) 08:56, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

More American editors than anybody else also

Okay but still British English is the accurate form of English and American English is derived from its wrong transliterations only, so more British editors than anybody else should change all of this now itself immediately. I will also edit your talk page now itself immediately here! 120.56.222.142 (talk) 15:56, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Dear JayCubby, Sulfur is wrong mistransliteration in American English instead of correct British English Sulphur so it should always be removed everywhere on Wikipedia now! 120.56.104.252 (talk) 16:16, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for giving this Bald eagle to me and i will edit your talk page now but for your information, United States is one of the world's greatest countries, not the only greatest country in the world now. 117.231.194.180 (talk) 12:47, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
