- I don't have one. Thanks for the warm wishes, though. 138.115.204.195 (talk) 20:47, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
- Strange as it is, we don't really like drive-by editors stoking little fires in contentious areas. Drmies (talk) 20:53, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
- I get it, I really do... And rarely do I feel so strongly about things that I make an appearance in conflicted areas. But this IS contentious, and as someone who has invested time here (albeit a pitiful amount relative to you) because I believe in the value of Wikipedia, things that would fundamentally alter the way it is edited inspire me to get involved. But not involved enough to make an account with a name that I feel like I owe time to... I understand it's absurd. 138.115.204.195 (talk) 21:04, 14 August 2018 (UTC)

- Yes, and I'll paste a DS warning below. You are welcome to make a bunch of article edits and build up good will so we know you're not just here to cause trouble for other editors. In the meantime, kindly stop commenting on other editors and their sanctions. I'm a pretty uninvolved editor since there's good people on both sides who hate me, and I will not hesitate to block if you continue with what I call disruption. Commenting on article talk pages about content, that's different. Drmies (talk) 21:12, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
- Now you're being absurd. I'm sure I don't need to point you to the relevant policies and guidelines that dictate removing/altering comments on talk pages, or have to remind you that IP's are people too. And, you're doing a good job of making your position weaker by deleting my comments and threatening to block me because you are mistaking dissent for disruption. Also, lmao about the uninvolved thing... I wasn't being sarcastic when I said I appreciated how difficult it can be to edit in contentious areas. I'm not one of those IP editors that hates you, nor do I ever intend to be. 138.115.204.195 (talk) 21:26, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
- No, not absurd. IPs are people too, I know that, but that is not what is at stake here. What is at stake is what I outlined above. As for difficult, I don't know. I don't enjoy telling people off, or removing comments, but sometimes it has to be done. Drmies (talk) 22:49, 14 August 2018 (UTC)

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have recently shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect: any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or any page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
