Before adding controversial content to an article, please make sure it is indeed notable and will have due weight and balance on the article. In my opinion, them advertising to girls with self-esteem issues is not a controversy. It is what every brand does. As well, the reference you linked does not seem to work and google shows nothing new. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 01:59, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks HickoryOughtShirt?4. I do note that many brands do do this. But What5words with its unique strategy is attempting to get all brands to stop social media advertising to teenagers. Full stop, due to its medical effects. My startup is asking hard questions of corporations. And Westpac New Zealand do not social media advertise. 1789.e5 (talk) 02:34, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. thanks very much for this, I have not edited wikipedia in a decade and that was due to my problems with social media. I am what5words, and I appear to have accidentally unintendedly broken a number of your rules. I think I have some significant contributions to make around awareness of social media addiction that do not self promote. My websites can be found easily on the internet. My startup is regulated by the New Zealand press council, and at present I am reporting on my LinkedIn page as many journalists investigate these issues. Can you please give me any assistance as to how to best proceed?

My strategy can best be seen at https://www.opednews.com/articles/One-language-is-not-anothe-by-Peter-Chisholm-AWARENESS_AWARENESS_Awareness_Children-181211-972.html.

This unique strategy in November and December is directly inspired by Wikipedians. I am as neutral as I possibly can be.

Request reason:

I made a mistake. I am truly not intending to self promote, just edit with my medical and personal experience. I was previously a contributor to Wikipedia back in the early 2000s, and I now note all the policies. I will ask for advice from more senior wikipedias before making any edits in the future 1789.e5 (talk) 02:19, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You clearly were trying to self-promote, which you did with this account and by setting up another sockpuppet account. I see no contributions from the early 2000s; indeed, this account was registered only yesterday. Given that combination, I think it best we leave you blocked for now. However, if you are able to make a better account of yourself, you are welcome to request another admin review your block. Yamla (talk) 13:03, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Comment: You made a second account, What5words (talk · contribs), and if I'm reading this statement correctly, "What5words" is what you are trying to promote. Your account cannot be named what you are trying to promote, let alone, you shouldn't be promoting a service here at all, and you also shouldn't be using more than one account at all. 2601:1C0:4401:24A0:CD14:2095:2AA2:3772 (talk) 02:38, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This appears to have been my main mistake. I was intentionally making sure that I was not breaking wikipedia's guidelines, by attracting your attention with that brand, that was a mistake to do that, I should have asked. I want the account What5words to be deleted. 1789.e5 (talk) 02:48, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
