Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did on Gary Ridgeway, you may be blocked from editing. HamartiaProsciuttoPharos (talk) 17:19, 23 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Why is undoing an edit naming someone a demented monster vandalism?2001:A61:58D:6201:74F9:9848:AA84:86AB (talk) 17:22, 23 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. WikiAviator (talk) 09:24, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Your comment on the admin noticeboard[edit]

Hello, regarding your comment "I merely reverted vandalism" on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring, please bear in mind that you should not repeatedly revert, even though you think that you are right. Keep on reverting cannot solve problems, the only thing you should do is to solve this edit dispute on the article talk page. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page. You are welcome to continue editing without logging in, but many editors recommend that you create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits, such as the ability to create articles. For a full outline and explanation of the benefits that come with creating an account, please see this page. If you edit without a username, your IP address (2001:A61:58D:6201:74F9:9848:AA84:86AB) is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian!
