Dessie was 48 when he died. He died on March 18th, 2019. One month before his 49th birthday. He was born in 1970. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.233.155.188 (talk) 00:41, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You'll need to cite a reliable source for that claim. The source currently cited in the article states he was 49. —C.Fred (talk) 00:43, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

All the newspapers got it wrong at the time of his death because it was a month before he turned 49. I will try to find a source but I can guarantee Dessie was born in 1970. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.233.155.171 (talk) 00:47, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You must provide a source to back up your claim. —C.Fred (talk) 00:49, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

https://www.donegaldaily.com/2019/03/22/a-town-of-tears-as-dessie-larkin-is-laid-to-rest/ found a source. Dessie was born in 1970, making him 48 at the time of his death. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.233.155.188 (talk) 00:51, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is, that means we have two conflicting sources. We need more sources to sort the situation out. —C.Fred (talk) 00:54, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

https://donegalnews.com/2014/07/dessie-larkin-letterkennys-first-ever-town-centre-manager/ another source from 2014, citing Dessie to be 44 which would mean he was born in 1970. The papers got confused at the time because it was a month before his 49th birthday. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.233.155.188 (talk) 01:00, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

https://www.donegallive.ie/news/home/370570/funeral-arrangements-confirmed-for-former-donegal-councillor-dessie-larkin.html another source

Also, C.Fred there is another user who keeps misquoting the source concerning the football injury. If you click into the page you will see that I rightly corrected the misquotations. Here is the page for reference https://www.donegallive.ie/news/home/370570/funeral-arrangements-confirmed-for-former-donegal-councillor-dessie-larkin.html . I believe that they are purposely trying to be crude by changing the words. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.233.155.171 (talk) 01:12, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
