Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Orphism (religion), disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 01:16, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

How in the world is this violating the Manual of Style when every other article on the website utilizes the Common Era calendar designations? Why is this article the one article in which the Christian title of "Christ" must be used in dates? 216.59.148.111 (talk) 01:20, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Information icon Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Orphism (religion). There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 01:17, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I reviewed the Manual of Style and my edits did not violate them whatsoever. I didn't add or remove any information. All I did was reformat the dates in accordance with the Manual's regulations. My edits were simply to change all of the references to "BC" dates to "BCE". It's literally a one letter difference and it didn't even violate the rules. The rules are that only one era format may be used, which I did follow by changing all of the BC to BCE; and that the change from one format to the other may not be made without good reason, but I had a perfectly good reason. My reason is that this is an encyclopedia, not a Christian religious text, and so therefore all references to AD and BC should be updated to the standard that is utilized in the scientific community, the Common Era standard. If you're going to treat these edits like a problem, why don't you go ahead and let Christian vandals take over the site and use every article to remind us of what dirty evil sinners we are? 216.59.148.111 (talk) 01:27, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
