Edit Filter - False positive reports
[edit]Hello 217.68.167.73,
you might want to use {{EFFP}}
when responding. This causes the bot to think that the section was reviewed and is ready for archiving. You might want to create an account. Have a nice day, Victor Schmidt (talk) 16:46, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
Unblock
[edit]217.68.167.73 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
Sorry, but this block is baseless. I dont remind that I broke any rule. Lets start with the block reason. It says Please login to edit. The question I'm currently asking myself is "Why I should create an account and login, because I could easely edit as an IP?" Note that this IP is assigned statically to a School, and you effectively block at least some legimate users. I'm pretty sure not all persons here know the "Create an account"-button. But back to the block reason. I cant remember breaking any rule that would deserve blocking with the plain, unexplained "Please login to edit", as done here. 217.68.167.73 (talk) 07:52, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Unfortunately, extensive vandalism from this IP address had made the block necessary to protect Wikipedia, even though it does affect innocent people. If you were not responsible for any vandalism, you should create an account so that you avoid problems like this. 331dot (talk) 09:03, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
What vandalism

Could someone please tell me which edit(s) caused the most recent block? I am actually clueless. 217.68.167.73 (talk) 09:45, 2 July 2020 (UTC)

- AmandaNP is a checkuser who has access to private technical information that may factor into this block, they will see this. You can avoid these sorts of problems by creating an account in seconds. 331dot (talk) 10:32, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
- @331dot: Wait, sou you decline my unblock request for extensive vandalism but dont even know what vandalism (and I bet you dont mean the stuff from this IP in march, do you?). 217.68.167.73 (talk) 10:48, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
- I went by the block log which has several blocks for vandalism. You are free to make another unblock request if you desire, though creating an account would be much quicker for you to begin editing. 331dot (talk) 10:53, 2 July 2020 (UTC)

- It seems that from CU data that you already have an account to edit from. Splitting contributions so any patterns can't be detected is not allowed. I don't think your related to the string of vandalism from before, and that's why the main accounts don't stand blocked. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 11:56, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
