QC → KC

[edit]

Please note that while it's fine to change the body text of an article to change a lawyer's designation from QC to KC, you must not preemptively change the person's category from "Queen's Counsel" to "King's Counsel" in advance of any category actually existing at the "King's Counsel" name. Articles are not allowed to be left sitting in redlinked categories that don't actually exist — so if you move a person from Category:English Queen's Counsel to Category:English King's Counsel, the only thing that happens is that somebody else has to come along and move them back to Category:English Queen's Counsel again.

We have a categories for renaming process by which you can request that the existing category be moved to King's Counsel — but until that's actually been done, you have to leave the Queen's Counsel category alone, because the articles have to be filed in the category as it actually is, and cannot be preemptively moved into a category that doesn't exist yet.
