I'm Haza-w, and I noticed that you haven't been welcomed yet, so I thought I'd drop you a note. We do have a lot of users, and are currently working on 6,887,728 articles, so things can be a little intimidating... but don't worry! We love to help out, and we'll try our best to make your stay here as comfortable as possible.
Here are a few links I found useful when I first arrived here:-
You should sign your name on talk pages, discussions and votes by typing ~~~~; our software automatically converts it to your username and the date. Also, if you don't want to jump right into editing articles right now, why not check out the sandbox? Feel free to make test edits there.
I know it's a lot of information, but there are two more things I recommend you take note of while editing Wikipedia - cite references wherever possible, and avoid allowing personal biases interfere with your editing.
I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian - I definitely do. Although we all make mistakes, please keep in mind what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or problems, leave me a message on my talk page, and I'll try my best to help. Otherwise, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! [edit]Hi, 2542jack, and thanks for your kind e-mail. A few things in follow-up:
- Firstly, you cannot claim ownership of Wikipedia articles, as they are collaboratively edited; in the words of the disclaimer, if you don't want your material to be edited mercilessly or redistributed for profit by others, do not submit it.
- Secondly, you should read through Wikipedia's conflict of interest and autobiography guidelines. Contributing to articles about you is generally discouraged, as your edits are likely to contain a non-neutral point of view. If you want to make an addition, you could request that another user make it, on the article's talk page.
- Lastly, in reference to your comments about the content on the page, the way in which you appear to be editing the page is stripping all of the formatting and links from the article. If you wish to add content to the page, simply click the "Edit this page" tab and add to the existing page markup in the edit box. If you want to edit the page offline, then make sure it is the content of this textbox that you copy and work on, and not a copy of the article itself – this will result in loss of formatting, and makes it difficult to restore your edits.

- Matt, I'm not sure whether I can state this any clearer; Wikipedia contributors are editors, not authors, and no-one, however expert they think they are (and may actually be) has the right to act as if they own a particular article. You might be the subject of an article, but that does not give you any editing privileges which allow you carte blanche in the article's content. Again, as I said in my above message, the way in which you are editing the article (copying the text from the article and pasting the edited version in the edit box) is removing all formatting, references and categories from the article. I removed the website you added because, per Wikipedia's external links policy, links to web pages that primarily exist to sell products or services should not be added to articles. Given that the site's header reads "A one-stop shop..." and consists of a list of purchaseable media with store links, the site appears to fall into this criterion.
- As you are clearly continuing, and show clear intention of continuing, to violate Wikipedia's ownership of articles policy, both in your edits to the article in question and in your e-mails to me, please consider this your final warning on this matter.
The next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you are continuing to do so at the article Matt Mulhern, you may be blocked from editing. haz (talk) 11:32, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit]2542jack, if there are specific problems with the Matt Mulhern article or if there are errors with the content there, please elaborate on the discussion page Talk:Matt Mulhern but unfortunately what you're doing to that page is not acceptable and can't be allowed to stand. The material you're blanking out - the Wikipedia page formating, internal links, maintenance tags and article categories are standard on all articles and the categories and internal links in particular are important components for the organisation of this project. We are certainly happy to hear any concerns about the article and if there are factual errors please do explain them to us so we can correct them but I'm afraid that you're going to be blocked or the article will be protected from editing if you continue in this manner.
